I’m baaaack and I’m very excited to share the details of my very first solo vacation. So, let’s dig in.
One June 20, at 5:30am I departed Richmond International Airport and arrived in Cancun, Mexico at 9:30 CT.
When I arrived, I met the transportation company and 15 minutes later I arrived at my resort, The Royalton Riviera Cancun.
I absolutely love this resort. The staff, food, ambience, EVERYTHING was spectacular. The Royalton Riviera was constructed in 2016 so the aesthetic is bright and modern, which I love. When I stepped out of the van, I was greeted by the resort staff and escorted to the private lounge for Diamond Club members. The Royalton offers their guest the option to upgrade to The Diamond Club. This upgrade includes:

Top Tier me please! lol Yes, I upgraded. It’s my belief that I deserve the best so I will work for the life I desire. On my birthday in 2019 my friend gave me a birthday card and in it the note said, “This year my prayer is that you choose you first” It took the entire year for me to do that, but this trip was a gift to myself for choosing me ALL 2021. So as I said, top tier me! Now, back to the trip. lol
After arriving to the Diamond Club Lounge, I ordered a margarita and opted for some refreshments because I was STARVING! I waited about 15 minutes and then I began the check in process (which was SUPER easy). Regular check-in is 3PM but Diamond Club members have the option to check in early.
I was then escorted to my room with a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. The fear I felt in the airport was totally worth it when I saw the view.
Next up was Food, a drink and to schedule my COVID test. To enter Mexico, I did not need a negative COVID test. However, to return to the United States I needed a negative COVID test. I spent the remainder of the day in the pool until dinner.
Monday was a relaxing day by the pool full of naps, reading, food and drinks.
Tuesday was excursion day. I took a ferry ride to a beautiful island outside of Cancun called Isla Mujeres. When I arrived, I rented a golf cart for two hours to tour the island. It was the best experience. I will definitely be back.
The rest of the day consisted of the beach, tacos and drinks.
Wednesday was my last day, so I booked a hdryotherapy session and a deep tissue massage for Wednesday morning. Literally the BEST massage of my life. Also, if you’ve never experienced hydrotherapy, I highly recommend it. Especially if you workout consistently.
I spent the remainder of the day in or by the pool, reading, eating and drinking. As you can tell, this trip was EXTREMELY RELAXING and fulling. If you’ve considered taking a solo trip, BOOK THE TRIP SIS/BRO!
