Let’s face it, ditching fear is no easy thing and requires lots of faith. According to Hebrews 11:1, faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
At the end of 2021, I received an abnormal test result that required me to have not one but two biopsies. When the nurse called, I hung up the phone and said “God this is not what you said this season was going to look like.” I then realized that I had two choices, focus on what was going on or activate my faith. God had given me a word about this season and having abnormal test results wasn’t a part of it.
In that moment, I made the choice to trust God. I have an extensive family history of cancer so it was natural to lean into fear. Both parents, two grandparents and even my first cousin have all been diagnosed with cancer. Because of that, I take vitamins daily, eat clean and work out somewhat consistently (lol).
I made the decision that despite the test results, God is faithful and He is a healer. Even if healing for me looked like surgery.
The test results were benign. Thank you God. Through that experience my faith was cultivated.
When life happens to us we have a choice, focus on the problem and become weary or focus on God. When you put your hope in God, your faith is cultivated. Today make a decision to make God your firm foundation by believing His word despite what’s going on around you.
2 Corinthians 5:7-For we walk by faith, not by sight.
