It has been a desire of mine to travel solo for over 10 years and last year it happened. I traveled to Cancun, Mexico for 5 days.
The day before I left, I became very nervous. I wondered if I would be safe, would my cell phone work properly and a host of other things. I decided to relax for most of the day so that I could be well rested for my travel day.
Fast forward to the next day, which was my departure day, I was literally sick to my stomach. I took an uber to the airport, boarded my flight, landed in Atlanta for my layover and before I knew it, I had landed in Cancun, Mexico.
When I walked into my hotel room and saw the amazing view from my balcony, the fear drifted away into the ocean and I was overwhelmed with peace and gratitude. What I saw was the beauty on the other side of my fear. My dream was now a reality.
Today I want to ask you, what’s on the other side of your fear?
You may be asking yourself a ton of “what if” questions that are rooted in fear and disbelief. Today and everyday I want you to ditch the fear associated with “what if this goes wrong” and replace it with the truth.
To ditch fear….
- Take Your Thoughts captive by asking yourself if the thought aligns with the word of God. If it doesn’t ditch it.
- Replace that thought with the word of God. It’s ok if you’re not a bible scholar. I’m not either but I am a google scholar. Google some scriptures to help you ditch fear and stand on truth. Here are two of my favs. ( Im keep it real wit yall. No one knows it all).
- Romans 8:28-And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
- Philippians 4:13- I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
- Meditate on the word of God over and over again. Those thoughts will continue to pop up. 1 Peter 5:8 says to be sober and vigilant because the devil roams around like a lion seeking whom he can devour. The devil wants to devour your thoughts, habits and life. Don’t let him and take power over your thoughts.
Fear only has power when you come into agreement with it. Simply put, you believe that fearful thought will manifest. So as a result your actions align with what you fear.
Here’s an example:
Your Thought: What if it doesn’t happen for me?
Your Action: There is no action and you don’t prepare to receive what you desire. Sooner or later you forget about the desire until you see someone else receive the blessing you once wanted.
End Result- Not living the life God had planned for you.
That desire came from Him. Ditch the fear and the need to know “how” it’s going to happen and just believe.
Take about 15 minutes and write down some of the fearful thoughts you’ve had recently. Find scripture to replace them and meditate on them throughout the day.
Have an amazing day!
