I’m thrilled to be back with another reflection from the Cultivating Based podcast. Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2025? Time is flying, but the calling God places on our hearts never slows down—and today, I want to share a message that’s been stirring deeply within me.
Recently, I was flipping through my journal, praying and seeking direction for my newsletter, and a particular note stood out. I had written:
“Don’t allow anything or anyone to make you question your discernment.”
Those words instantly brought to mind the story of Adam and Eve. Many of us know it well: they were placed in the garden and instructed not to eat from a specific tree. Then the enemy came, not with a command—but a question.
“Did God really say that?”
The answer was yes—God did say that. But the enemy twisted truth into confusion, leading Eve to doubt and ultimately disobey. This brings us to James 4:7:
Resist the enemy, and he will flee from you.
God has given us the ability to discern, but it’s up to us to stand firm. When we choose to believe what God has spoken, we deny the enemy the power to disrupt our faith. Eve didn’t do that—she listened to deception rather than truth.
As John 10:10 reminds us, the enemy’s goal is always to steal, kill, and destroy, and often, he does this subtly—through words. That’s why it’s so important to be mindful of the words spoken to us and even the questions asked of us. Words have power. They can shape our faith or shake it.
But here’s the encouragement: when we root ourselves in the Word of God, we ground our hope in what is unseen but deeply believed. We stand not in fear, but in faith. The enemy’s lies lose their grip when we cling to the truth of God’s promises.
So this month, I want to challenge you to be intentional. Guard your heart, protect your peace, and stand firm on what God has spoken over your life. You are discerning. You are grounded. And above all—you are covered.
Wishing you a month full of clarity, courage, and unwavering faith.
